Andhra Non Major Portwise
Andhra Pradesh has the 2nd longest coastline, of around 975 Kms. There is one Major Port - Visakhapatnam and there are 15 non-major ports in Andhra Pradesh, of these, 4 ports normally handled cargo traffic and these are: Rawa, Kakinada Anchorage/Kakinada Deep Water Port, Gangavaram and Krishnapatnam
Ravva (or Rawa) is an oil field, an oil and gas production site located off the coast of Andhra Pradesh in the East Godavari district, which functions as an anchorage port. The Ravva oil field began production in 1994
Kakinada has both a deep-water port, which is an all-weather port for large vessels, and an anchorage port. The deep-water port is used for handling large cargo, including agricultural products, minerals, coal, and fertilizer, while the anchorage port is important for exporting rice and other agricultural goods. Kakinada Deep Water Port was commissioned by the Government of AP in November 1997. The Kakinada Seaports took over operations when the port was privatized in 1999
Gangavaram Port, inaugurated in 2009, is a deep-water, multi-purpose port located in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, operated by Adani Ports. It serves as a significant maritime gateway on India's east coast, capable of handling super cape-sized vessels, and deals with a variety of cargo like coal, iron ore, and fertilizers
A private port operator located on the East Coast of India, Krishnapatnam Port is an all weather world class deep water port of International standards which is capable of handling Cape Size vessels round the clock throughout the year. The port caters to land locked hinterland of South India with multimodal connectivity. Seamless connectivity by road and rail with very close proximity to National Highway 16 and National Rail Network (Chennai – Kolkata Main Line)

For 2023-24, traffic handled by Non-Major Ports in Andhra Pradesh was 117.4 million tons, comprising 59.2 million tons or 50.4% at Krishnapatnam, followed by 37.2 million tons or 31.7% at Gangavaram. These two Non-Major Ports accounted for ~82% of total Non-Major Ports traffic in Andhra Pradesh
For the same year, Kakinada Deep Water handled 17.9 million tons (15.3%), Kakinada Anchorage handled 2.4 million tons (2.1%) while Rawa handled 0.7 million tons (0.6%)

If we scroll down the above Table, for the year 2000-01, the total Non-Major Ports traffic in Andhra Pradesh was only 4.8 million tons, comprising 2.6 million tons at Rawa, 0.5 million tons at Kakinada Anchorage and 1.8 million tons at Kakinada Deep Water
The rapid growth in traffic at Non-Major Ports in Andhra Pradesh is due to the commissioning of ports at Gangavaram and Krishnapatnam, which now account for ~80% of the Non-Major Ports traffic in Andhra Pradesh
