All Ports: Commoditywise Traffic

Out of the 1,542.9 million tons of traffic at All Ports during 2023-24, POL (Crude and Products) accounted for 389.7 million tons or 25.3% of total, Iron Ore accounted for 129.5 million tons or 8.4%, Building Materials accounted for 9.9 million tons or 0.6%, Coal accounted for 346.1 million tons or 22.4%, Fertilisers & Fertiliser Raw Materials (FRM) accounted for 31.6 million tons or 2% of total

The two major products POL and Coal are directly energy sector related, and collectively accounted for 47.7% of total traffic at All-Ports

Ports handle a vast variety of products, hence the quantum under the Others category is large, at 636.1 million tons or 41.2% of total during 2023-24

If we scroll down the above Table, total traffic at All-Ports during 2001-02 was 383.1 million tons, with POL accounting for 155.8 million tons or 40.7% and Coal accounting for 60.2 million tons or 15.7%. The two commodities collectively accounted for 56.4%
