Domestic Natural Gas Price / Ceiling
Prior to April 2023, the natural gas price in India, as per the 2014 guidelines were fixed every six months based on the weighted average price of four global benchmarks (Henry Hub, Alberta gas, NBP, and Russian gas).
In April 2023, Cabinet approved the revised domestic natural gas pricing guidelines for gas produced from nomination fields of ONGC/OIL, New Exploration Licensing Policy (NELP) blocks and pre-NELP blocks, where Production Sharing Contract (PSC) provides for Government's approval of prices, benchmarking the price on a monthly basis to the price of imported crude

Based on these guidelines, PPAC India (Petroleum Planning & Analysis Cell) sets domestic natural gas prices, and notifies on a monthly basis
