Gujarat Non Major Ports: Commoditywise Traffic

Gujarat is a principal maritime State with a natural coastline of about 1215 kms. (16% of India’s total coast line). The State has 48 non-major ports which are under the jurisdiction of Gujarat Maritime Board (GMB) since April, 1982. Out of 48 non-major ports, traffic is handled at 17 non-major ports. The remaining 31 non-major ports are used for fishing activities and have negligible traffic

If we scroll down the above Table, total traffic at Non-Major Ports in Gujarat was 19.9 million tonnes in 1996-97, and had increased to 46.7 million tonnes by 1999-2000. It crossed the 100 million tonnes mark in 2005-06, the 200 million tonnes mark in 2009-10, the 300 million tonnes mark in 2013-14 and the 400 million tonnes mark first in 2019-20

Share of POL had peaked at 64.6% during 2009-10
